Your Impact
Axon develops and manufactures conducted electrical weapons, body worn cameras, and digital evidence management solutions. By applying technical solutions to complex problems in digital video capture, Axon has redefined public and private sector technology globally. We seek a high-energy, results-driven pre-sales sales engineer who enjoys presenting technology to leadership, support staff and end users. This role accelerates our sales initiatives and requires a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, evangelistic startup environment focused on law enforcement and public safety.
What You’ll Do Location: Remote, but candidate should be located in the West (preference Seattle or California). Travel up to 70% of the time. Reports to: Sr Director, Sales Engineering
Achieve mastery of all Axon technologies/products
Lead business and technical presentations with exceptional written and oral communication
Engage in deep technical conversations with IT leaders (including CIOs) and technical stakeholders
Set and manage expectations with customers and team members
Provide technical support throughout the pre-sales cycle for opportunities
Stay organized and remove sales obstacles through creativity and adaptation to rapidly changing circumstances
Develop relationships with key customers for growth within their agency
Provide professional responses to customer RFPs/RFIs
Position the technology against competitive offerings
Represent the products, company values and brand at field events (industry/user conferences, tech summits, etc.)
Own the POC/Pilot process: coordinate logistics, assess requirements, tailor POC tests and findings, assist prospects with initial configuration and orientation
Improve or develop technical documentation to aid understanding and usage
Capture requested features and provide feedback to Product Management, Sales, Development, Support, Engineering and Marketing teams
Develop Statements of Work (SOW) for Professional Services necessary for binding quotes
Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring Willingness to travel up to 70%
Educational background: Associates degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent field), or 10+ years relevant experience
Professional background: 10+ years customer-facing pre-sales, consulting, or product management
Experience selling or supporting SaaS-based solutions
Experience in Public Safety, End User Compute or Cloud Computing preferred
Experience in networking, storage, virtualization, or related technologies
Intellectual curiosity, humility, accountability and a positive approach
Basic knowledge or curiosity of networking, security, InfoSec, and related methodologies
Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and storage devices
Ability to work independently with substantial latitude for action while collaborating in a team
Strong presentation skills and the ability to simplify complex concepts and work cross-functionally
Experience developing SOWs or similar documents
Intermediate knowledge of routing and switching, telecommunications, and Internet technologies
Basic knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies
Networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+ or similar

Benefits listed may vary by employment type and location. Pay is a total compensation package including base pay, bonus and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role ranges from USD 153,090 to USD 244,944, depending on factors such as level, function, experience, and geographic market.
