Role Overview

We are looking for outstanding technologists to join our Solution Architect organization to ensure that our product (TiDB) and solutions align with the needs of our customers across SaaS and other ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) segments. The PingCAP Solution Architects team researches TiDB’s most advantageous industries and business scenarios in different global markets, identifies efficient GTM strategies, and provides these solutions to business teams in various regions. They guide customers and users to craft and build reliable, scalable systems using our data platform through professional services. Our team is made up of software and database architects and industry experts.

Responsibilities

  • Support business teams in North America, EMEA, APAC, and Japan, take responsibility in the new economy industry, ensure achievement of relevant business metrics at the solution level, and enhance the Proof of Concept (POC) success rate of account teams.
  • Conduct market insight into global new economy verticals (games, e-commerce, fintech, SaaS, etc.), understand industry business scenarios, identify industry trends, develop and implement scenario-based industry solutions, and drive product entry in various industries while safeguarding products, solutions, and the cooperation ecology.
  • Advise customers on architectures, patterns, and strategies for optimal use of TiDB, through efficient tooling and interactive user journeys.
  • As a technical expert, stay informed about data technology trends, study the latest data stacks and data products, and produce high-quality technical content and solutions.
  • Establish industry influence by organizing internal and external tech sharing and disseminating distributed database knowledge, industry data architecture, and best practices.
  • Demonstrate solutions innovation and experience working with customers, especially large accounts and leading architecture teams.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional experience; Master in at least one database or big data technology stack; deep research and content output in this area; broad knowledge of data technology and familiarity with mainstream data products including RDMS, distributed systems, and cloud-native data tech.
  • Diverse industry business and technology expertise with understanding of industry scenarios and SaaS business models and data architecture.
  • Proficient in scenario abstraction and aligning with data architecture; proven track record in influencing internal and external stakeholders and enabling field teams with proactive data architecture exploration.
  • Experience selling databases and deploying applications with leading cloud providers such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
  • Strong communication and program presentation skills to guide customer data architecture needs and enable business initiatives.
  • Curiosity and a continuous learning mindset in databases, cloud computing, big data, and emerging technologies.
