Productivity Engineer

New Today

Overview

Productivity Engineer — a data driven engineer that can identify inefficiencies across the enterprise by collaborating with colleagues across the enterprise, leveraging analytics skills and build workflow automations to drive results. You’ll build internal applications, workflows, and automations that help teams across the company work faster, reduce costs, and eliminate inefficiencies. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, workflow automation, and front-end application design. You’ll leverage modern data platforms like Snowflake and dbt alongside Sigma — turning BI from static reporting into interactive, actionable applications. You’ll be part of the Data Platform team, a centralized team of Data and Analytics Engineers who focus on building the underlying data architecture necessary for Sigma’s success.

If you are passionate about creating applications that make your business better atop enterprise data, then this is the job for you!

Examples Of What You’ll Build On Sigma

  • Accounting automation: An application that helps companies close their books faster, giving finance teams a competitive edge.
  • Smart inventory management: An app that monitors store inventory in real-time, taking in demand signals and triggering replenishment before anyone recognizes the need.
  • Invoice processing with AI: An app that automatically scans, routes, and processes invoices, eliminating the need for costly third-party systems.

Day in the Life & First 90 Days

In Your First 30 Days

  • Learn our data ecosystem, including Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, and Sigma (and more!).
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify the biggest productivity bottlenecks.
  • Ship your first workflow or small automation — something that a team will start using right away.

By 60 Days

  • Build your first end-to-end application: pulling clean data from data models, powering a Sigma-based interface, and automating workflows in the background.
  • Deliver measurable results (e.g., automating a manual process entirely).
  • Present your work back to stakeholders, showcasing both technical design and business impact.

By 90 Days

  • Own the development of multiple applications in production, actively used by cross-functional teams.
  • Establish a pipeline of future productivity projects, informed by stakeholder feedback and your own creativity.
  • Begin mentoring others on best practices for using Sigma and workflow automation to drive business action.

  • Familiarity with low-code/no-code platforms for workflow automation.
  • Interest or experience in front-end design to build intuitive internal tools.
