About the Role
We’re organizing the Student Biological Data Competition — an international contest for university students focused on scientific datasets and promoting open science and open data. Learn more: firstapproval.io/contest
The competition is already underway, and we’re looking for a Project Manager to help ensure everything runs smoothly and to contribute to its success.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate the organizing team
- Communicate with jury members
- Reach out to universities and invite students to join
- Answer participant questions and guide them through the process
- Help spread the word via email campaigns, social media, and other channels
You won’t be doing it all alone — but you’ll be at the heart of the project.
Timeline
- Short-term role: mid‑August to mid‑November 2025.
- Potential for future collaboration on other exciting projects if this goes well.
Job Type

- Compensation depends on time commitment and experience
Who We’re Looking For
- Strong English communication skills (you’ll be writing a lot!)
- Experience managing projects and writing professional emails
- Background in education or academia, especially in science
- Bonus: experience with email campaigns or outreach
- Biology background is a plus, but not required
