The opportunity

As a Manager in Application Systems Engineering, you will be at the forefront of defining user and customer requirements, focusing on user interface development across diverse platforms. You'll play a pivotal role in engineering software components and services that ensure seamless communication within the system architecture.
Your Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of our team, you will manage and deliver high-quality processes, solutions, or projects, with a strong focus on quality, risk management, and continuous improvement. You'll be expected to innovate through research and benchmarking best practices, while managing professional employees and supervisory responsibilities to meet performance objectives. Your role will encompass:
- Ensuring billability through chargeable work to external clients.
- Leading workstream delivery with strategic oversight.
- Managing project status and overseeing deliverable completion.
- Traveling as required by client engagements.
- Actively participating in client sessions and leading workstreams from planning to execution.
- Identifying additional service opportunities to drive sales.
- Leading specific RFP responses and managing engagement economics.
- Executing resource planning within budget constraints.
To thrive in this role, you'll need a blend of technical prowess and business acumen, coupled with the ability to manage complex problems and lead teams effectively. Your skills will include:
- Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and possess strong business acumen. Demonstrate ability to assimilate to new knowledge.
- Lead and deliver quality SAP projects or workstreams.
- Consistently deliver quality client services. Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.
- Establish relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels
- Agile development methodologies.
- Application integration and quality assurance.
- Proficiency in software development and technology business requirements analysis.
- Strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
- Digital fluency and emotional agility.
- A 4-year bachelor's degree is required
- 4 - 6 years of relevant experience in ABAP development and SAP programming.
- Strong expertise in ABAP programming language, including object-oriented programming and modularization techniques.
- Experience in developing and enhancing SAP applications using ABAP, including reports, interfaces, forms, and enhancements.
- Proficiency in SAP Fiori/UI5 development and integration with ABAP back-end services.
- Familiarity with SAP HANA and experience in developing native HANA applications using ABAP.
- Knowledge of SAP modules (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC) and their integration with ABAP solutions.
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization of ABAP programs and database queries.
- Strong understanding of data dictionary objects, including tables, views, and data elements.
- Experience with SAP Web Services and OData services for integrating ABAP applications with other systems.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices in ABAP development.
- Knowledge of database management systems and data modeling concepts as they relate to ABAP.
- Strong experience in debugging and troubleshooting ABAP programs and related issues.
- Familiarity with SAP Technologies: XI/PI/PO, Solution Manager, SAP LT, Data Services, ABAP, Security, S4 HANA.
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client service, and technical writing skills.
- Ability to research client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies.
- A willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 60% or more.
- Prior consulting industry experience
- SAP Certification/s
- Experience with at least one full cycle implementation of your core module

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $141,200 to $258,900. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $169,500 to $294,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
