OVERVIEW SFFILM is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Seasonal Individual Giving Assistant Manager to support our Development team during a busy fundraising period that includes year-end giving campaigns and the 2025 SFFILM Awards Night. This temporary, full-time role will assist with donor communications, stewardship, and event support, ensuring a seamless experience for our Patron-Level donors ($2,500+) and individual giving community.
The ideal candidate is proactive, deadline-driven, and comfortable balancing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, database familiarity, and enthusiasm for SFFILM’s mission are essential.
Application Review will begin September 15, but will be rolling after that until filled. SFFILM currently supports a hybrid-remote schedule, with an average of 3 days a week in the San Francisco offices, as well as time onsite throughout the Bay Area supporting SFFILM events. This position is required to be based in the Bay Area and is expected to be available to be onsite as needed, leading up to and during our 2025 Doc Stories program (November 6 – 9, 2025) and SFFILM Awards night (December 8, 2025). All staff are expected to work in accordance with in-office requirements as determined by organization-wide and department policies. Some night and weekend availability is expected.
Starting compensation for the position is $25-$26/hr depending on experience, with occasional overtime as assigned by the Director of Development.
RESPONSIBILITIES Support the Development team in executing year-end fundraising and Awards Night activities.
Assist with Patron-Level membership renewals, acknowledgments, and donor correspondence.
Draft, personalize, and send donor acknowledgment letters and tax information promptly.
Coordinate with Marketing & Communications to ensure donor event invitations, emails, and materials are accurate and on-brand.
Track RSVPs, assist with on-site registration, and provide general event support for Awards Night and other cultivation events.
Help monitor donor renewals, pledges, and outstanding payments; send reminders as needed.
Maintain accurate donor records in collaboration with the Database and Membership Manager.
Assist in preparing donor recognition lists for invitations, signage, online, and printed materials.
Provide general administrative and logistical support to the Development team as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 1–2 years of experience in fundraising, sales, customer service, or related fields.
Experience working with CRMs, donor databases or other related data or project management tools.
Friendly, welcoming, and comfortable interacting with people with vastly different backgrounds and across all roles.
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail; Ability to successfully juggle multiple priorities, stay focused on what matters most, and respond with flexibility and confidence to last-minute requests.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects with efficiency.
Excellent decision-making and creative problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Drive, Sheets) and Excel.
