Location: FCC HQ, Washington, DC (Onsite coverage + Remote support)

Role Summary:
The SOC Lead supports the FCC’s Network Security Operations Center (NSOC), overseeing real-time monitoring and analysis of network activity, incident response coordination, and threat intelligence analysis. This role includes operational support across endpoint protection, vulnerability scanning, and insider threat response.

Duties per PWS Task Area 2 – Security Operations Center Services:

• Monitor and analyze network traffic and respond to technical security issues

• Conduct vulnerability assessments and security incident investigations

• Support insider threat hunting, cyber intelligence, and digital media analysis (DMA)

• Maintain continuous operations and incident response procedures

Qualifications:

• Proven experience managing or leading federal SOC teams

• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning, endpoint tools, and real-time alerting systems

• Capable of working 24/7/365 operations environment or directing 24/7 coverage
