Senior Consultant

We are seeking a motivated and analytical Senior Consultant to join our team and help problem solve for our utility clients. This role is ideal for utility / energy and consulting professionals with at least four years of experience in utility work who are ready to take the next step in their consulting career. You will work closely with senior team members, junior staff and utility clients to deliver strategic insights, financial models, operational improvements, expert testimony, and innovative solutions that drive energy transformation and sustainability.
This is a hybrid role, with three days per week in-office and two days per week working remotely.
Responsibilities Include Support client engagements focused on regulatory strategy, energy transition, grid modernization, litigation, risk management, depreciation, municipalization, pipelines, prudence, retail and wholesale energy markets, rates and regulations, and operational efficiency.
Conduct market research, data analysis, and stakeholder meetings to inform project recommendations.
Develop and present client deliverables including reports, presentations, financial models, whitepapers, expert witness testimony and dashboards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions tailored to client needs.
Mentor junior consultants and contribute to internal knowledge development.
Utilize Excel and other quantitative or statistical software to run financial models for clients.
Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in the utilities and energy space.
Qualifications Include Bachelor’s Degree required, ideally in Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Energy, Environmental Science, Statistics, or similar discipline. Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in consulting or within the utilities / energy industry.
Experience with energy markets, utility regulatory frameworks, sustainability initiatives, utility mergers and acquisitions and / or energy transition strategies.
Project management experience and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
Must be able to perform advanced functions in Excel including VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, COUNTIF, pivot tables, financial modeling, regressions, forecasting, and the creation of charts and graphs
Strong quantitative skills and research skills, with the ability to synthesize information accurately and present it clearly.
Strong writing skills with excellent content, supporting evidence, grammar, and spelling. Must be able to write extensive reports for clients including whitepapers, research reports, explanations of financial models and expert witness testimony.
Strong technology skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
Additional Information Hours: Monday-Friday 9am - 5:30pm ET

Base Salary: $136,700 plus incentive compensation bonus annually of typically 20% - 40% of base salary, depending on individual and firm performance
