Databricks is looking for an experienced Procurement contracts negotiator to join Databricks’ GTM and Partners Legal team. As Senior Contracts Negotiator for Procurement Legal, you will serve an important role in supporting the expansion of our global infrastructure and the needs of our internal business units, as well as working cross-functionally to optimize and scale our vendor contracting motion. You will report to the Senior Managing Counsel, GTM & Partners.
The impact you will have:
Negotiate a broad range of vendor agreements, including but not limited to SaaS, marketing, facilities, contractors, events, and sponsorships that enable us to scale rapidly while protecting Databricks with thoughtful risk management.
Work closely with internal operational and legal teammates to streamline procurement contracting workflows to reduce cycle time, support Databricks’ rapid growth and long-term stability, and increase stakeholder satisfaction.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including other practice areas within the Databricks legal department, on special projects related to the needs of a range of business units, including product teams.
Serve as a trusted advisor to internal teams, resolving complex vendor challenges into practical business solutions.
Help provide program management support to frame, track, and report on the progress of key initiatives.
What we look for:
You have 5-7 years of relevant experience, including ideally at least 3 years in-house (preferably at a high-growth company with significant technology needs).
You are experienced with contract drafting and negotiation across a range of vendor agreements (i.e., SaaS, software, hardware, professional services, data subscriptions, facilities, marketing).
Familiarity with negotiating data protection/privacy and security principles.
Have excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
A motivated self-starter who is able to multitask and prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment.
You are an effective contributor when collaborating with internal cross-functional stakeholders on ongoing projects.
You are a critical thinker, comfortable speaking up and brainstorming productively, identifying future needs/issues while executing on current activities.
You are pragmatic in making recommendations in a fast-paced environment and applying a practical, balanced mindset to legal problem-solving.
