The Opportunity: Your role at Sephora... As a Senior Data Scientist – Personalization Data Science, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing ML and AI-based models to enhance client personalization decisioning, business use case automation, and optimization. You will work on orchestrating decisioning systems and generating key insights to support company-wide business priorities. Reporting to the Director of Personalization Data Science, you'll collaborate with a specialized team of data scientists and engineers to tackle novel and ambiguous problems with innovative solutions. Responsibilities: -AI Agentic Smart Orchestration (35%) Design, develop, and deploy intelligent AI systems for sophisticated content curation and business needs Integrate complex business goals (e.g., color consistency, freshness, placement frequency) into recommendation and placement awareness models Collaborate with business teams to translate strategic objectives into actionable data science solutions Lead research, development, and integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) into core systems Partner with broader Gen AI initiatives to ensure consistency in consumer experience across platforms Develop foundational code aligned with company-wide AI standards that can be easily adapted -Streamline Tech Stack (30%) Build and optimize MLOps pipelines to efficiently deploy trained models to various platforms Create reusable infrastructure and tools that enable engineering teams to handle the final stages of placement unlock process Reduce technical debt and improve iteration speed by enhancing the model-to-placement pipeline We're excited about you if you have: 5-7+ years of proven experience building and deploying machine learning models in production environments 5+ years experience with Databricks, Spark (or PySpark), and working with big data (preferred) 7+ years strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with data science libraries (Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow) 4+ years hands-on experience with Generative AI models, LLMs, or related deep learning architectures Competencies and Skills Deep Learning Frameworks: Proficiency with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX, and SQL Model Deployment (MLOps): Skills in deploying and serving large-scale models, including knowledge of tools for model inference, monitoring, and scaling Understanding of Generative Architectures: Solid grasp of underlying principles of models like Transformers, diffusion models, and other architectures used in generative AI Data Preprocessing for LLMs: Knowledge of preparing and cleaning large, unstructured text or image datasets for training and fine-tuning generative models Strong Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas to various stakeholders The annual base salary range for this position is $142,545.00- $159,315.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
