The Role As a member of Block's Reliability Data Science team, you will leverage observability events and other product datasets to detect, diagnose, monitor, and measure reliability issues across our Square and Cash App tech stacks. We give engineering and product teams the tools and insights they need to ensure product reliability as we release new versions of our hardware, firmware, operating systems, and apps.
You Will Develop and maintain datasets and tools that expand/automate our monitoring and alerting capabilities for reliability issues across Square and Cash tech stacks.
Develop KPIs and measurement systems focused on product reliability.
Partner with Engineering to leverage observability event data to triage and diagnose reliability issues.
Partner with Engineering to design and develop new logging/events for reliability monitoring.
Measure the impact of reliability issues on the business.
You Have 8+ years of data experience
Fluency with SQL and Python
Experience using AI tools to accelerate development and enhance solutions
Experience working with dashboarding tools
Experience with ETLs and data engineering
Experience designing KPIs and measurement systems
Familiarity with standard machine learning concepts and statistics concepts
Familiarity with cloud engineering and cloud infrastructure
Experience leading cross-functional projects
Experience working with technical and non-technical partners, including Engineering, Product, and Business teams
