Who We Are Tangible ( http://www.tangible.co ) is a product marketing, product design, and design thinking agency. We solve complicated marketing and design problems for tech brands at every stage of growth. Our home office is in San Francisco, CA, but we are remote by design, with employees spread across the country. We have team members who typically work between 20-40 hours a week on project assignments for our clients.
What We're Looking For We need a Senior Designer who thrives at the intersection of design systems and implementation. In some projects, you'll lead the creative vision; in others, you'll bring existing concepts to life with precision and craftsmanship. This dual role requires someone who can shift between big-picture thinking and meticulous execution — creating original designs for some projects while implementing approved directions within design systems for others.
We're looking for strong production skills, including image optimization for web and digital platforms, preparing assets for various mediums, and ensuring design quality through technical execution. You should be comfortable handling everything from creative concept to final deliverable, with the technical know-how to ensure designs are implemented correctly.
We value designers with a growth mindset that drives them to constantly improve. While you'll need to be technically proficient in production work, we're equally interested in your passion for design and aspiration to push your creative boundaries. Above all, you'll have a keen eye for detail and organization, particularly in maintaining clean Figma files that others can understand and build upon.
Your Mission As a Senior Designer at Tangible, your role will flex between creative development and skilled execution within a highly collaborative team environment. When leading, you'll shape visual solutions from concept to completion, championing our clients' visual brands while pushing creative boundaries (within the confines of brand standards up to and on the edge of what's acceptable). When supporting, you'll refine and implement established directions with precision. Throughout all projects, you'll partner closely with fellow designers, strategists, copywriters, and project managers to ensure cohesive solutions. You'll ensure design implementation is as flawless as the concepts themselves, collaborating with developers to bring designs to life without compromise. Your success will come not just from your individual design skills, but from your ability to thrive in our collaborative culture and contribute to our team-based approach.
Key Responsibilities Adaptability: Confidently jump into projects at any stage of the end-to-end process, from initial concept through final delivery, adapting quickly to project needs and timelines
Creative Concept Development: Create original design concepts and visual solutions that align with strategic objectives and brand standards, while expressing your unique creative vision
Design System Expertise: Apply and extend our clients' design systems across multiple corporate clients' brand touchpoints
Visual Design Excellence: Produce outstanding visual design across mediums, including UX/UI, marketing materials, and interactive experiences
Figma Excellence: Maintain impeccable Figma files with meticulous layer naming, logical component structure, and clean organization of frames, groups, and sections; effectively integrate and work with clients' existing Figma libraries
Developer Handoff: Create detailed annotations, specifications, and optimized assets for developers, ensuring seamless implementation across multiple delivery channels including web, email, PDFs, and other digital formats
Digital Asset Management: Work efficiently with client DAM systems to leverage existing assets and contribute new ones according to established protocols
Brand Stewardship: Build relationships with clients' brand teams and ensure all work meets their standards while pushing creative boundaries appropriately
Concept Presentation: Present design concepts and rationales directly to clients, articulating your creative decisions with confidence
Implementation Planning: Identify technical constraints early and collaborate on solutions that preserve strategic intent
Quality Assurance: Ensure all design deliverables meet Tangible's high standards and are error-free
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work effectively with strategists, copywriters, and project managers to estimate effort and deliver cohesive solutions that deliver against our client's business, brand, and communication objectives
