Senior Director, Digital Experience

The Senior Director of Digital Experience is a visionary leader responsible for strategy, innovation, and execution of a cohesive, data-informed digital experience across ACOG’s digital ecosystem, including websites, mobile app, learning management system, email and member community platforms. This senior leader will serve as ACOG’s conductor of digital coherence, aligning all digital touchpoints with strategic goals, brand identity, and evolving user needs. A thought leader in digital transformation and emerging technologies -- the Senior Director will work cross-functionally to drive engagement, personalization, and performance, while championing a culture of digital literacy and innovation.
Note: This position is considered Hybrid and will need to commute to ACOG's office located in Washington, D.C.
Duties/Responsibilities
Digital Strategy & Innovation
Define and lead an integrated digital strategy and roadmap that aligns with organizational priorities and brand identity
Lead a data-informed approach to decision-making, leveraging web analytics, audience engagement metrics, and social insights
Contribute as a digital transformation thought leader, evaluating the impact of emerging technologies and innovative approaches to enhance the digital experience
User Experience & Personalization
Orchestrate cohesive, user-centric journeys across platforms to deliver high-quality digital experiences for ACOG’s audiences
Maintain a holistic view of the user journey, identifying key touchpoints, pain points, and optimization opportunities
Oversee efforts to enhance usability, accessibility, and conversion performance through user research, usability testing, and iterative improvements
Data Strategy & Analytics
Define and implement a comprehensive digital data strategy for analyzing user interactions and measuring performance across channels
Partner with internal teams to establish KPIs and drive continuous improvements in content effectiveness and user engagement
Develop dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to leadership and stakeholders
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of digital strategies with institutional messaging and goals
Act as the digital liaison across departments, ensuring digital channels support member recruitment, retention, and overall engagement
Lead a digital literacy program to build internal capability and awareness of digital best practices
Team Leadership & Program Oversight
Provide strategic and operational leadership of the website team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and mission-driven culture
Develop team capabilities and workflows that support scalable, sustainable delivery of digital experiences across multiple platforms
Serve as senior leader for major digital platform initiatives, ensuring continuity during team transitions, driving milestone execution, managing vendor relationships, and aligning projects with broader organizational goals
Operations & Content Strategy
Prioritize and streamline content development and distribution across digital channels
Guide teams in balancing short-term performance needs with long-term digital growth initiatives
Ensure continuous alignment between digital efforts and annual strategic objectives
Required Skills/Abilities
Strong analytical mindset with proven experience in digital initiatives and experiences
Expertise in web and mobile technologies, CMS/DXP platforms, and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hotjar, etc.)
Demonstrated knowledge of personalization, customer journey mapping, and omnichannel engagement strategies
Experience with building forward-looking digital roadmaps that leverage AI and emerging technologies in digital engagement is strongly preferred
Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with a track record of successfully leveraging stakeholder relationships to lead cross-functional initiatives
Curiosity and the ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a mission-driven, fast-paced environment
Experience with user research methodologies including interviews, usability testing, and data analysis
Education And Experience
10+ years of progressive experience in digital strategy, digital marketing, or digital experience leadership roles
Minimum of 5 years experience managing digital platform teams, with demonstrated experience in mentoring staff, fostering professional growth, and building high-performing teams
Salary Range: $145,000 USD - $160,000 USD
