The Sr. Director of Government Affairs will lead the development and execution of an impactful government affairs program that aligns to Pure Storage’s overarching public policy and business objectives. We are looking for a government affairs leader who is passionate about technology, has a track record of successful technology advocacy, has extensive relationships with government leaders and associations, and is eager to expand Pure’s leadership position in data management.
Develop and lead Pure Storage’s government affairs strategy at the federal, state, and local levels in the U.S. Monitor policy issues of importance to Pure and provide regular briefings to executive leadership on developments critical to Pure’s business. Advocate for policies that support growth and innovation within the data storage industry including data management efficiency, AI, and cyber resilience. Build and maintain strong relationships with elected officials, regulators, and other stakeholders in service of Pure’s policy positions. Work with trade associations, industry partners, and non-profit groups to build support for Pure’s policy positions in data management. Partner with Pure’s Public Sector team to further Pure’s government business development and customer success goals. Partner with Pure’s leadership, Legal, Communications, and Public Sector teams to ensure alignment on public policy messaging and priorities. Partner with the Legal team to ensure reporting and disclosures related to lobbying and political activity comply with all applicable laws.
What You’ll Need To Bring To This Role...
15+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or related roles with a demonstrated focus on enterprise technology. Advanced degree in public policy, law, political science, or related field preferred. We are primarily an in-office environment, and therefore you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave. That said, we are also open to remote work arrangements in specific locations, and currently support remote work from Washington, D.C., subject to team alignment and approval.

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.

The Annual Base Salary Range Is
$249,000—$398,000 USD
