Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced product leader to manage the strategy and execution of Common Sense Media's educator-facing platforms. The Senior Director of Product will drive the vision, road map, and cross-functional development of digital tools and curriculum delivery systems that empower K–12 educators and support students' digital literacy and well-being.
The Senior Director of Product will play a pivotal role in translating Common Sense Media's research and curriculum into engaging, scalable, and effective products. This role requires partner and stakeholder management, strategic thinking, user empathy, technical fluency, and executional excellence—alongside a passion for improving student outcomes and educator experiences via digital products.

$140,000–$166,250

What You'll Do
Lead collaboration with leadership and external partners to develop strategy, systems, and frameworks for education products aligned with organizational goals and mission.
Act as an industry expert in edtech, pedagogy, school systems, trends, and AI integration, incorporating best practices into product decisions.
Partner with Marketing, Education, Curriculum, and Research teams to translate insights into engaging digital experiences and facilitate cross-team prioritization.
Represent Common Sense Media externally to organizations, grant-makers, and educators through relationship-building and presentations.
Work with Engineering to develop digital experiences, lead product development streams, and oversee delivery from concept to QA.
Build and analyze data insights and reporting strategies to measure impact, identify improvements, and enhance engagement.
Manage project timelines aligned with school calendars, facilitating planning and delivery cycles.
Oversee user research and testing, ensuring educator and student feedback informs product decisions.
Supervise and mentor product team members, fostering a high-performing, mission-driven team.
Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with field needs, staying informed on digital trends, interoperability, and privacy regulations.
Conduct market research to optimize products and identify strategic opportunities in K–12 education.
What We're Looking For
5+ years of product management experience, preferably in K–12 edtech or educator tools.
Strong technical fluency and ability to collaborate with engineers (coding not required).
Experience managing cross-functional teams through all product lifecycle phases.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to use data to inform product decisions and define success metrics.
Passion for supporting student well-being, literacy, and digital citizenship.
Preferred: MA Ed, M.Ed, MBA, or equivalent expertise in education or technology.
Preferred: Experience with district adoption cycles, LMS integrations, or educator professional development tools.
Preferred: Ability to translate educational research into digital experiences for diverse users.
Preferred: Deep understanding of the U.S. K–12 landscape and industry structures.
Preferred: Knowledge of AI's impact on education.
