Responsibilities As a Senior Professional Electrical Engineer , with general direction, create basic to highly complex designs of electric master system plans, power systems, protection and generation models, facility power systems, sustainability/renewable energy systems, and other related electrical systems.
Perform studies of power systems and electrical calculations for electrical systems, lighting simulations, lighting layouts, communications, fire alarm, security, and other similar calculations.
Develop white papers and technical documentation to support the firm\'s Technical Knowledge Management (TKM).
Perform site reviews and studies to ensure designs align with location specifications; update design requirements as necessary.
Contribute to the firm\'s TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special designs, studies, etc.; submit technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client RFPs; review drafts for adherence to regulations and best practices. Meet with current and potential clients to review design needs.
Attend conferences and symposia to improve visibility of the firm\'s products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff; mentor for growth; may supervise work on project tasks.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technology or related discipline. Professional Engineer (PE) license.
7 years of related experience. Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Travel frequency varies by duties and project demands.
Preferred Qualifications Experience designing power systems for water, wastewater, industrial, federal, and transit facilities.
Experience designing medium and low-voltage power distribution systems.
Familiar with industry and federal codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, NESC, IEEE, UFC, etc.).
Experience conducting power system analysis using SKM Power Tools for Windows and ETAP.

Pay Range Minimum: $90,605
Pay Range Maximum: $158,579
Additional Compensation: All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
