The Center for Global Development (CGD) is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit policy research organization in Washington, DC, and London, UK, focusing on issues critical to inclusive development. Through empirical research and engagement with the global policy community, we address the intersections between policy and financial priorities of low- and middle-income countries and their partners.
We are seeking a Senior Fellow to lead research in the Sustainable Development Finance program. The Senior Fellow will work on global macroeconomic, financial, and debt policies to promote growth and development, and will develop and pursue their own research agenda.
Principal Responsibilities: Design and lead innovative research to inform policy debates.
Conduct research on global macroeconomic and growth policies addressing LIC and LMIC challenges, including sovereign debt, industrial and trade policies, and institutional reforms.
Engage in policy outreach activities such as speaking engagements, blogging, and high-level interactions with donor and technical communities.
Participate in expert group consultations and working groups.
Publish blogs, papers, policy briefs, and commentaries for policymakers, academics, and the public.
Monitor and respond to research and policy developments.
Review and support colleagues’ research.
Supervise and mentor research assistants and coordinators.
Contribute to CGD’s initiatives on equity and inclusion, fostering a culture aligned with our mission and values.
Qualifications: Doctoral degree in economics or a related field preferred; equivalent research experience considered.
Extensive experience in international economics, development, political science, climate, or space, with a strong publication record and policy influence.
Original scholarly work applying quantitative research to economic and institutional issues; econometric skills are a plus.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and work independently.
Experience in grant funding is advantageous.

Salary range: $170,000 - $190,000, commensurate with experience.
