About The Role
We’re looking for a passionate, self-motivated Sr. FP&A Analyst to join the Finance team. This role will be responsible for regular monthly reporting, maintaining financial systems, supporting our business partners and enhancing our financial models. As a member of the Finance team, you will work cross-functionally with the business and help support the overall company strategy. Due to the high-growth nature of our business, the duties and responsibilities of this position will evolve over time, so we are looking for someone who has the capacity and desire to grow with the position. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a positive, get-it-done attitude.
This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our San Francisco HQ 3 days per week.
Impact You’ll Own
Create detailed financial models and enhance existing models inclusive of OpEx, headcount and CapEx in support of Planet’s space systems team
Improve and maintain the consolidated corporate financial model. This includes managing a rolling forecast for the business
Assist the development of annual and recurring forecasts and scenarios, focusing on the underlying business drivers, key financial and operating metrics, and sensitivity analysis
Work cross-functionally across the organization to drive process improvements
Develop and monitor goals, highlighting trends and explaining causes of variances to forecast as part of month end close process
Work closely with the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial closes
Track and analyze KPIs across all departments
Implement new processes and lead system requirements to streamline financial operations
Ad hoc financial modeling and analysis
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or other quantitative major
4+ years of relevant experience in a financial, accounting or consulting role
Knowledge of financial reporting, including accounting operations, processes, risks and controls
Proficient financial modeling, Excel and presentation skills
Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously with creativity and sound judgment while prioritizing to meet tight deadlines
Solid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and CapEx management

Agile approach to problem-solving
CFA, CPA or similar professional qualification desirable

The US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is listed below. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (bonus and equity). The final salary range is determined by job related experience, skills and location. The range displays our typical hiring range for new hire salaries in US locations only. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
San Francisco Salary Range
$101,400—$126,800 USD
