Our Zero Trust architecture is purpose-built for the modern cloud to solve security and operations challenges at scale. We are looking for a senior level fullstack engineer to join a team of highly skilled professionals who own and deliver with independence. The team moves quickly with a weekly release cycle and offers opportunities to work on stimulating new projects, learn new technologies, and share in equity during a period of rapid growth.

You Will

  • Design, build, and maintain end-to-end features using modern JavaScript and cloud-native backend technologies.
  • Lead technical design for key initiatives, driving quality, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Build reusable and performant UI components for a best-in-class no-code builder experience.
  • Drive evaluation, development, and rollout of new features and common platform components.
  • Evaluate existing systems to evolve them for specialized circumstances to support Okta's future business needs.
  • Conduct design and code reviews to ensure scalability, redundancy, and multi-tenancy; write comprehensive unit and functional tests.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and fix services and frameworks the team owns; evaluate system performance and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
  • Collaborate with architects, QA, product owners, security and operations engineers.

You Have

  • Immense passion for doing the right thing to help Okta's technology stay ahead of growth.
  • Extensive experience with cloud-based software security product development.
  • Strong background in architecting, implementing, tuning, and debugging large enterprise cloud deployments.
  • Understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures and algorithms).
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent; master's preferred.
  • 7+ years of programming experience in a modern language (Go, Java, or C++), with Go preferred for backend services.
  • Strong knowledge of modern frontend JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, etc.).
  • 4+ years of experience with PostgreSQL or equivalent RDBMS; database design and query optimization a plus.
  • Experience with REST and a solid grasp of its fundamentals.
  • Experience with AWS, Redis, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Kinesis, Kafka, and Docker.
  • Knowledge of network security, authentication, and authorization.
