We're looking for a talented Senior Full-Stack Engineer who is passionate about changing the way people learn English. As a Full-Stack Engineer @ Cambly, you'll be part of a fast-moving engineering team of ~15 engineers. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver high-performance features while maintaining a robust, scalable codebase. You'll be a key contributor to most feature work and have significant ownership over our Frontend & Backend platform. Our frontend app is built on NextJS / React / TypeScript. Our Backend is built on AWS / Flask / MongoDB. Responsibilities Conceive, design, build, and launch new user-facing features Lead development of new features and improvements for Cambly’s Student and Tutor experience Optimize performance and ensure a smooth, high-quality teaching & learning experience Collaborate with product and design teams to build product experiences that help students find the perfect tutor, create a learning plan, and build their English fluency Maintain a high code quality product through code reviews, testing, and best practices Projects you may work on Building a tutor discovery experience that is fun, engaging, and effective at connecting students with the perfect tutor Creating a classroom experience where lesson content is generated by AI to be tailored to the learner's needs Building post-lesson activities that are curated to fit each learner's areas for improvement About you 5+ years of full-stack development experience 3+ years of experience with React Experience working with NoSQL databases like MongoDB Experience building and maintaining production systems using tools like Lighthouse, Sentry, New Relic, etc. Good understanding of frontend technologies, patterns, and best practices Good understanding of backend systems, patterns, and best practices Passion for building products that have a real impact on users Life @ Cambly $60M VC backed Hybrid First Company (Office days: M, T, & Th) Daily catered lunch 100% of Medical, Dental, and Vision paid along with matching 401k (up to 4%) Maternity and Paternity Paid Leave 20 days of PTO 9 days of sick leave 10 company holidays plus end-of-year shutdown Work from anywhere in the world for two weeks This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
