Our client is a startup company in the bay area looking to add a senior legal counsel to their team. The role is ideal for someone with technical expertise and intellectual property experience who can provide strategic, business-oriented legal guidance across technology, IP, and commercial matters. This is a high-visibility position that reports into their CLO. Responsibilities include the following: Serve as a key legal partner to the engineering team, providing proactive guidance on IP, data rights, technology licensing, and regulatory/commercial considerations. Draft, review, and negotiate technology-related agreements, including software, vendor, and partnership contracts. Advise on intellectual property strategy, licensing, and protection of proprietary technology. Collaborate with product and operations teams on risk mitigation and product development considerations. Support corporate governance, commercial transactions, employment, and other general legal matters as needed. They are ideally looking for someone to come into their Mountain View office a few days weekly. They are open to seeing candidates who are willing to relocate. Preferred qualifications include: Engineering background or degree (electrical, software, robotics, etc.) Privacy experience AI experience The base pay range for this position is $190,000.00/yr - $215,000.00/yr.
