Overview Senior Project Engineer, Team Lead role at Ampirical in San Ramon, CA. This position involves managing relationships with alliance clients and leading design and execution efforts for Substation projects. Base pay range $187,803.00/yr - $187,803.00/yr Responsibilities Serve as a member of the San Ramon, CA Substation group, managing relationships with alliance clients. Work on one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, and development of substation equipment specifications. Prepare construction cost estimates and coordinate relay schemes (SMP & Non SMP), AC/DC schematics, general arrangement, grounding, and conduit layout. Conduct internal and external client, manufacturer, and contractor meetings; perform quality reviews of engineering work for internal assets and subcontractors. Manage and develop project proposals, bid preparations, project schedules, bill of materials, and other deliverables for assigned Substation projects. Prepare construction drawing packages and act as the first point of contact for scheduling issues, task assignment, and escalation to the Supervisor as needed. Oversee the Design Team’s project work including scope development, conceptual routes/layouts, design specifications, package preparation, materials ordering, and technical clarifications with clients. Provide construction support and guidance on client standards, processes, and procedures. Review and ensure quality of project engineering deliverables, including work by internal teams or third parties. Attend project site visits and interface regularly with clients in offices or in the field. Support client’s project engineers as directed. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Electronics, or closely related engineering field. 8 years of engineering experience involving Physical, Protection & Controls, or Civil/Structural Substation Design and 2 years working as a Project Engineer. Experience in technical project management; all aspects of project lifecycle (RFP/Estimating, Kick-off, Design, Technical Meetings, Reporting, Submittals/Transmittals, RFI, Package Issuance, Material Procurement, Construction Support, As-Built Management, Project Closeout). Eligible to telecommute 2 days a week from a home office within a reasonable commuting distance from the San Ramon, CA office. Willingness to travel 20% of the year within the United States for company projects and site visits.
