What You'll Do Live by and champion our values: empathy, execution, humility, curiosity.
Design, build, and maintain powerful services to enable Finch’s data presentation layer.
Lead product expansion initiatives, including horizontal expansion of existing integrations to increase data coverage and depth and new product verticals.
Develop, test, and maintain integrations to meet security, scalability, and performance requirements for reliable and efficient service at scale.
Lead large product initiatives spanning multiple teams, from problem definition to engineering scoping to execution to deliver valuable solutions for customers.
Deploy code daily.
Understand roadmap priorities and write code focused on scalability, testability, and maintainability.
Quickly debug issues across the stack using modern observability tooling and a solid engineering foundation.
What You'll Bring 7+ years of relevant backend development experience in a start-up environment.
Track record of delivering on large projects with high ambiguity.
Detail-oriented with the ability to drive initiatives to completion.
Exposure to high-growth start-ups.
Knowledge of agile practices and how to apply them to release faster.
Technical understanding of the software development process.
Excellent written and oral communication and people skills to influence stakeholders including technical leaders and executives.
Experience working cross-functionally across multiple teams to deliver high-quality products.
Experience working in a remote-friendly environment.
Skills Deep experience with APIs and back-end technologies.
Strong system-design skills and experience with distributed systems.
Experience with NodeJS, PostgreSQL, Redis.
Experience using Git in a professional environment.
Familiar with API authentication and authorization methods, particularly OAuth.
Experience using a cloud provider. AWS is a bonus.
Experience with distributed messaging systems.
Strong knowledge of testing best practices; TDD is a bonus.

$180,000 - $215,000 a year
Compensation Finch’s compensation package includes a competitive base salary benchmarked against real-time market data, as well as equity for all full-time roles. Our minimum salary range for this role is:
$180,000 - $215,000
Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other factors.
Location This is a Hybrid role that requires working two days per week in our office in either San Francisco or NYC.
