The role The role : Senior Tax Manager
The rapid pace of change and increasing complexity of tax rules make this an exciting time to grow your career in Tax at KPMG. We use our deep technical expertise and understanding of how tax fits into the broader business landscape to help our clients manage their U.S. income tax reporting obligations.
We advise our clients on U.S. reporting rules so they can meet their compliance responsibilities and provide investor tax reporting needs across a wide range of areas, including insurance, hedge funds, and private equity funds. We may also assist in taxation for private clients.
Role and Responsibilities
As a member of our tax management team, the Senior Manager will assist the Tax Partner by providing a high level of tax knowledge, understanding and judgement.
The Senior Manager will assist in the growth and development of our Tax practice, while participating and supervising the preparation of U.S. income tax returns, including specialized areas such as insurance, international taxation, and hedge funds / private equity funds.
The Senior Manager may also be expected to have or gain knowledge over local tax laws and regulations to assist clients.
The successful candidate must have experience and will be required to supervise tax staff.
Requirements CPA, EA, or legal professional designation (LLM in Tax preferred)
6–8 years of U.S. tax experience
Solid understanding of U.S. federal income tax return preparation for partnerships and corporations
Experience in U.S. corporate tax and / or asset management (hedge funds or private equity)
Familiarity with insurance or international tax is a plus
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively
Experience managing and mentoring staff
Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Flexibility to work extended hours during busy periods
Willingness to relocate to Bermuda (assistance and work permit sponsorship provided)
