This position offers an opportunity to apply and expand your knowledge of transmission line engineering, including conductors, hardware, insulation, structures, foundations, and electrical principles. Responsibilities include: Designing transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range. Conducting cost analyses, developing design criteria, and determining routing and siting of transmission lines. Conducting conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding, and induction studies. Collaborating with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components. Additional Opportunities: Working with a diverse client base and engaging with project teams. Occasional travel for site visits and meetings. Developing proposals and cost estimates for new projects. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement: three days in the office and two days remote, with a generous relocation package depending on your location. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Proficiency with PLS-CADD software. At least 5 years of experience in transmission line project work, including design, cost estimation, and liaising with construction teams. Knowledge of right of way requirements, conductor sags/tensions, and construction documents. Experience with technical plans, drawings, and engineering calculations. Familiarity with standards such as NESC, IEC, IEEE, ANSI, and others. Proficiency with MS Office and excellent communication skills. Valued but not required: Current PE license or ability to obtain one within a year. Experience in developing proposals and scheduling.
