About The Role
As a Sr Director, Enterprise Applications, you will act as the head of Business applications leading the strategic planning, implementation, integration, and optimization of key enterprise platforms and systems to support commercial, R&D, Operations, Medical, G&A, and other business functions. This role will play a pivotal role in aligning technology with business strategy, ensuring scalability, compliance, and operational excellence across all functional areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain business relationships with various functions to understand their processes and requirements, and provide appropriate technology solutions.
Lead IT Governance, collaborate with IT PMO and steering committees to evaluate and improve existing technology solutions, and develop a roadmap for new capabilities.
Manage and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of empowerment and teamwork focused on business outcomes.
Ensure compliance with security, data privacy policies, and regulatory requirements such as SOX and GxP.
Manage the IT budget, oversee total cost of ownership, and scale enterprise applications with company growth.
Drive innovation, process improvements, and operational excellence through automation and advanced technologies like AI and Machine Learning.
Assess the benefits and risks of Generative AI and other AI applications, implementing secure AI solutions that protect company data.
Manage vendor relationships, including RFP processes, contract negotiations, and monitoring service levels.
Factors for Success:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, business, or related fields, with 15+ years of experience in technology solutions in life sciences, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles.
Strong leadership, mentorship skills, and experience managing technical teams in a collaborative, high-performance environment.
Experience working in regulated industries (pharmaceuticals, FDA-regulated), managing GxP, SOX, GDPR, HIPAA, PII, and PHI requirements.
Knowledge of Generative AI tools, LLMs, and secure AI implementation.
Experience with platforms like Veeva, Salesforce, ERP systems like NetSuite, and cloud applications.
Excellent stakeholder communication skills, vendor management, and strategic thinking abilities.
Proficiency in project management methodologies, both agile and waterfall.
Additional Details:
Position based in Irvine with hybrid work; remote candidates with strong leadership in remote teams considered.
Reports to VP, Head of Digital and IT.
Travel up to 5% may be required.
