The Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in DMD will develop and maintain professional relationships with prominent, therapeutically relevant healthcare providers and key decision makers related to Catalyst's neuromuscular programs/products. The candidate will deliver presentations and engage in strategic discussions on medical/clinical, health economics and outcomes research data for Catalyst’s products. They will interact with healthcare professionals, including physicians, researchers, managed markets medical and pharmacy directors, hospital decision-makers, formulary committees, consultant pharmacists, state Medicaid decision-makers, and others.
This is a remote position covering the Northwest geography. Potential candidates should reside in the following locations and have access to major airports in: San Francisco, Seattle, Boise, Reno, Las Vegas, Portland or Cheyenne.
Responsibilities Identify, develop, and maintain collaborative relationships with current and future KOLs in the DMD space, scientific experts, cooperative study groups and study sites. Educate key professionals at national, regional, and local levels with current, fair-balanced medical, scientific and pharmacoeconomic information regarding Catalyst’s therapies. Increase awareness of marketed products to enable informed therapeutic decisions by healthcare professionals.
Assist in the preparation and execution of regional and/or national advisory board meetings for marketed and pipeline assets, including delivering presentations, assisting with slide preparation/review, and facilitating interactive discussions. Provide resources for presenting medical information and gather feedback on utility and marketplace positioning.
Deliver targeted internal training on topics such as study updates, congress news, and latest scientific developments. Implement and disseminate high-quality medical and scientific educational programs; give clinical and scientific presentations at sites/hospitals.
Support Catalyst-sponsored clinical trials on site through scientific presentations and discussions that build interest, provide context, and feedback on study design; understand trial/referral networks and enrollment barriers; participate in investigator meetings per approved strategy. Expedite development and collection of quality data for pipeline assets and marketed products.
Support projects from inception to conclusion as assigned by the medical affairs director.
Provide clinical and value-based input into Catalyst communications and materials; participate in training of new associates including medical science liaisons and regional account managers.
Education/Experience/Skills Must have an advanced degree in medical/biosciences (e.g., M.D., D.O., Ph.D., PharmD, DNP).
5 years of clinical research, pharmacy, life sciences, pharma industry/academic-related experience (fellowship acceptable).
Current neurology relationships in the DMD therapeutic space. 5 or more years of MSL experience, preferably in DMD or Rare Disease.
Experience in the DMD space.
Understanding of the pharmaceutical corporate environment and ability to liaise between Commercial, Marketing, Payor and Medical in a compliant manner.
Strong, broad-based scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge with extensive presentation and teaching skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable speaking about drug information and disease state management.
Willingness to work compliantly cross-functionally within the organization.
Ability to lead and motivate team members without direct reporting lines, including training and mentoring new medical science liaisons, marketing, and commercial colleagues.
Demonstrated ability to assess issues and think strategically.
Preferred Skills Sound computer skills including word processing, creating slide materials, and spreadsheet work (Microsoft Suite).
Develop qualitative and quantitative reports; collates competitor information.
Description Of Work Environment Frequent computer use (laptop or tablet), not usually at a workstation.
Responsibilities may require work outside normal hours (advisory boards, congress attendance, and other weekend activities).
Willingness to travel at least 75% of workdays within the assigned geography with potential support across the US.

The base salary for this position will range from $182,000 to $210,000. Candidate experience, professional licensing, and geographic location will be taken into consideration.
