As the Trust Tools Tech Lead, you will play a pivotal role in directing Pinterest's technical vision for Trust and Safety tooling. You will collaborate with sub-team leaders to improve and build scalable, stable engineering systems. Your responsibilities include leading content moderation, strike systems, compliance, and legal tooling. You will work closely with stakeholders across Pinterest to shape technical strategy, identify problems, propose innovative solutions, and ensure their successful implementation.
What you'll do:
Set up the long-term technical vision and strategy for Trust tooling, proactively identifying areas for innovation and improvement.
Collaborate with product management, legal, and operations teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Partner with other engineering teams and cross-functional teams to create robust, scalable, high-quality solutions.
Define and influence the architectural and strategic direction for Trust and Safety tooling.
Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of sophisticated systems.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within engineering teams, promoting knowledge sharing, mentoring, and professional development.
What we're looking for:
Minimum of 10 years of software engineering experience, including leading 0-1 development of products and solutions.
Deep understanding and expertise in system/software architecture, with experience as a technical lead.
Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or C++.
Proven success in technical leadership and mentoring multiple teams.
Experience translating abstract product needs into technical visions.
Ability to design and work with multiple layers: API, data storage & architecture, data retrieval.
Deep understanding of business processes and workflow improvements.
Knowledge of big data architecture for low-latency, high-volume transactions.
Experience with frontend development, security, or machine learning is a plus.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Work style is flexible; in-person collaboration is required 1-2 times per half, and the role can be located anywhere in the country.
