Sr. System Engineer This role has been designed as a ‘Hybrid’ position, expecting an average of 2 days per week working from an HPE office. Job Description: Collaborate with business leaders to develop and implement project plans, risk assessments, capacity planning, and contingency strategies. Remediate security vulnerabilities in systems. Support Windows and Linux server environments, including hardware setup. Maintain and monitor Active Directory. Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, applications, and system management tools. Ensure high levels of system and infrastructure availability. Monitor application performance, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with developers on solutions. Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies. Document and automate processes. Administer and tune application performance. Manage cloud systems on AWS. Build and manage virtualization and containerization infrastructure. Provide training to team members and junior engineers. Evaluate and onboard new technologies as needed. Work off-hours, weekends, or holidays as required to meet delivery schedules or address emergencies. Education / Experience: Master’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience. 7+ years in system and cloud administration roles. Experience leading and managing projects. Minimum Qualifications: Experience with Windows AD, LDAP, and domain servers. Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems. Experience with configuration management and automation tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet. Experience with virtualization (VMware) and storage systems (NetApp, Nimble, Pure, etc.). Project management experience. Knowledge of hypervisors other than VMware, e.g., Proxmox, RHEL OpenShift. Understanding of servers, storage, HCI, and FC switch configurations.
