Overview This role is for a specialist in technical, statutory Insurance accounting for GE Aerospace and its affiliates, including ERAC, Employers Reassurance Corporation, and a corporate holding. We are a reinsurance company supporting long-term care insurance, structured settlements and Life along with other insurance products. The role focuses on driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate financial reporting and analysis. The position can be remote anywhere in the US or based in Overland Park, KS. Roles and Responsibilities Provide guidance to the Finance teams and the organization on statutory accounting, filings and regulatory requirements. Assist financial reporting teams to ensure all statutory filings are completed timely, efficiently and in compliance with state regulatory requirements. Develop expertise within the function and grow reputation within the organization. Act as an expert, provide professional or thought leadership, influence policy, and ensure delivery within the function while coordinating with other functions. Lead or support functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and complexity (e.g., NAIC’s Principles-Based Bonds Definition and Group Capital Calculation). Present business solutions to leaders in the functional area. Communicate complex messages and negotiate internally to gain alignment. Influence peers to act and may negotiate with external partners, vendors, or customers. Lead others to find creative solutions for complex problems that may impact the organization. Evaluate quality of information, question conflicting data for analysis, and use multiple internal and external resources to arrive at a decision. Required Qualifications Statutory and insurance regulatory requirements are a must. Prior technical controllership and insurance industry experience, with Life & Health insurance products. Experience in preparing statutory financial statements and working with auditors. Ability to analyze relevant facts and formulate technical accounting positions, considering statutory and regulatory guidance and insurance industry practices. Desired Characteristics Master's degree from an accredited university or college. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to company-specific processes. Compensation and Benefits The base pay range for this position is $124.5k to $180,000 USD annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of base salary. This posting is expected to close on May 1, 2025.
