Job Overview
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Trial Attorney with a background in construction or commercial litigation. This role involves handling complex, multi-party cases in both state and federal courts, with responsibilities spanning from case inception to trial. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of litigation experience and a strong understanding of construction law, lien claims, insurance coverage, and surety issues. This is a hybrid position following an initial training period and includes competitive compensation, bonus opportunities, and origination incentives.

Duties

Manage complex construction and commercial litigation cases from inception through resolution

Draft, analyze, and revise construction contracts, insurance policies, and legal pleadings

Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials in state and federal court

Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda and briefs

Communicate with and advise clients, maintaining strong professional relationships

Work collaboratively with legal teams to ensure timely and effective case handling

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction litigation or commercial litigation

Demonstrated trial experience is required

Familiarity with litigation processes in both state and federal courts

Strong understanding of case management and client service expectations

Proven ability to handle multiple complex matters concurrently

Willingness to travel for court-related proceedings as needed

Education

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

Admission to the Florida Bar (required)

Expertise in construction law, lien law, insurance coverage, and surety law preferred

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical abilities

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and other legal practice management tools
