The Need
For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Vice President of Enterprise IT Applications to lead the strategic planning, development, and management of enterprise-wide application systems that support the mission and operations of IJM.
This leader will ensure that technology solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with the organization’s goals, while maximizing the value of global enterprise technology applications through strategic collaboration with business leaders.
As a key member of the Global Technology Solutions leadership team, the VP will drive innovation through digital transformation, data strategy, and the integration of artificial intelligence to enhance decision-making, operational efficiency, and program impact while guiding enterprise application teams in delivering prioritized features aligned with Business and Product Roadmaps using Agile methodologies. This leader will also be instrumental in advancing IJM’s global application support capabilities, ensuring effective and accountable service delivery through well-defined service level agreements (SLAs).
This position is responsible for overseeing platforms that support IJM’s programs, fundraising and operational activities which include the following:
Salesforce Constituent Relationship Management (CRM)
Web Development and Marketing Technologies
Salesforce Justice Data Solution (JDS)
Salesforce Protection Collaborative (PC)
Workday
ServiceNow
Business Intelligence, Integration, and Database Technologies
This position is based in the Washington, DC area and is available to be hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays). It reports to the Chief Information Officer and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
Lead a global, matrixed team of about 22 staff, 6+ offshore contractors, and up to 10 project-based consultants.
Manage a global systems and staff budget of approximately $5M.
Direct the development and support of enterprise system enhancements, integrations, and new applications.
Oversee daily operations, including disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident/change management.
Advise executive leadership on the design and evolution of scalable, effective enterprise applications.
Oversee the safety and reliability of IJM’s enterprise application platforms, including the U.S. online giving platform and critical system integrations (e.g., payroll, benefits).
Strategy & Knowledge Development & Implementation:
Drive strategic enhancements to enterprise applications that deliver cost-effective value.
Define enterprise application strategies and inform product roadmaps.
Establish governance rhythms to ensure business-led prioritization of system changes.
Oversee technical architecture decisions and global configuration planning.
Ensure secure and effective system integrations across all platforms.
Networking & Partnership :
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to align technology with business processes.
Collaborate with regional leaders and global executives to define feature requirements.
Partner with IT infrastructure and strategic vendors (Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow) to adopt critical updates.
Deliver excellent customer service by resolving incidents within SLA timelines.
Maximize ROI through effective vendor and partner engagement.
Policies and Procedures:
Oversee documentation and refinement of system policies and processes.
Establish protocols for business analysis, development, testing, and delivery.
Introduce Agile methodologies into release planning and product roadmaps.
Collaborate with the Global Director of Cybersecurity to implement security protocols.
Ensure effective mapping and re-engineering of business processes to technology solutions.
Communication:
Develop governance structures and reporting rhythms with executive sponsors.
Manage team availability to support global business needs.
Lead all corporate communications related to enterprise applications.
Documentation, Reporting & Data Management:
Oversee end-user training initiatives.
Provide SLA and performance reports to executive leadership.
Ensure consistent documentation of system design, operations, and recovery procedures.
Ensure adherence to industry-standard software development life cycles.
Supervisory:
This role reports directly to the Chief Information Officer
The following manager positions report to this role:
Director, Operations Technologies, Director Program Technologies, Director Resource Technologies
This position will require up to 30% travel, with occasional international travel to IJM offices.
Qualifications:
Education And Experience
Graduate degree in business management, information systems, or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and certifications
15+ years professional experience
10+ years in a management/supervisory role and experience working in a multinational organization specific to Enterprise Applications (i.e. Salesforce, Workday, and ServiceNow)
10+ Yrs experience using Agile software development framework and SDLC in a multinational organization
Technical Competencies
Proven ability to execute a strategic vision, coupled with the ability to explore and recommend new technology and development approaches
Proven leadership experience in a large and complex multinational IT organization providing services to internal and/or external clients
Familiarity with enterprise technology platforms such as Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, Tableau and similar ERP and business intelligence applications
Strong background in software/application development lifecycle, including budget, planning, requirements management, and QA procedures
Broad knowledge of IT architectures, methodologies, processes and tools
Proven experience rapidly maturing enterprise application support functions, configuration and software delivery including developing strategic program plans, roadmaps, and estimations, including forecasting capitalized projects
Strong understanding of Middleware integration layer (ex: MuleSoft, Oracle SOA, SAP PI, BOOMI)
Experience with project management,vendor management, andbudgetingrequired
Bi-lingualEnglish and (Spanish, German, or a language spoken in an IJM office) preferred
