Job Title: Vice President of Engineering – Drone & UAV Technologies
Compensation: Base salary of $250,000–$400,000 depending on experience, plus an equity package and performance-based incentives.
Responsibilities Provide executive leadership for all engineering functions, including embedded systems, firmware, robotics, and software development.
Define and execute the technical roadmap for UAV and drone products, aligning with business strategy and growth objectives.
Build, mentor, and scale high-performing engineering teams to support rapid company expansion.
Oversee architecture, design, testing, and deployment of UAV systems, ensuring reliability, safety, and performance.
Collaborate with leadership across product, operations, and business development to deliver high-impact solutions.
Manage engineering budgets, resource planning, and technology investments to support scaling operations.
Drive engineering practices and processes to support growth in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory developments in UAV and drone technologies.
Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
15+ years of engineering experience, with at least 5–7 years in senior leadership roles.
Proven experience leading complex engineering organizations, preferably in UAV, robotics, aerospace, or embedded systems.
Previous experience in a start-up or high-growth environment is highly valued.
Experience taking businesses through growth post-investment/funding is a strong bonus.
Deep understanding of embedded systems, firmware, flight control, sensors, and UAV hardware-software integration.
Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing engineering leaders.
Experience managing budgets, headcount, and engineering resources effectively.
