Company Overview Alpine Investors, a people-driven private equity firm, recently launched Mosaic Service Partners, a newly formed aggregator strategy backed by Alpine’s 9th fund, which has over $4.5 billion of committed capital. Mosaic is Alpine’s newest platform in the Home Service market.
This is a unique opportunity to play a foundation role in helping build the human resources function of a company with a clear mandate to scale to over $500 million in revenue within the next five years. Mosaic Service Partners is seeking to be the market-leading business in its specific vertical, building on Alpine’s existing success elsewhere in residential services. The goal of Mosaic Service Partners is to help drive growth at its operating companies by providing support resources across talent, sales and marketing, finance, integration, etc. while still empowering local leaders to make the right decisions for their business and people.
While Mosaic Service Partners is a startup, its institutional support and committed capital from Alpine, deal sourcing and execution resources, and experienced management team provide a strong competitive advantage and will allow the company to deploy a rapid M&A growth strategy, which are very unique characteristics for an early-stage firm. Mosaic is looking to hire individuals who understand the “build”, are willing to roll up their sleeves and work hard across many lanes and are excited by the opportunity to create an industry-leading platform from its inception.
Opportunity Overview Mosaic Service Partners is seeking a VP of Human Resources. This role requires a dynamic leader and builder who will drive new acquisition integrations, benefits management, payroll administration, HRIS development, compliance, and compensation strategies. You will serve as the cornerstone of our HR team, tasked with building and mentoring a team of regional HR generalists while defining Standard Operating Procedures that empower them to operate in accordance with our standards. Additionally, you will manage shared services benefits and resources for M&A project management and redesign our HRIS to drive accurate and actionable data.
What You’ll Do People Leadership & HR Operations: Lead and develop the HR team through clear direction, coaching, and accountability across all core HR functions, including talent acquisition, talent management, learning & development, payroll & reporting, and engagement.
Organizational Design: Design and maintain career pathways, compensation bands, and performance metrics to support retention and growth of top talent, as well as firm profitability.
Talent Acquisition: Oversee all aspects of recruiting, including job design, proactive sourcing, and structured hiring practices that strengthen the firm and our team.
Culture and Engagement: Support a culture rooted in high standards and core values. Oversee the planning and execution of team events aligned with those goals.
Compliance and Risk Mitigation: Ensure compliance with all employment laws and firm policies, and identify and manage risk proactively.
Team Member Relations: Manage conflict resolution and sensitive personnel matters with professionalism.
Payroll & Benefits: Ensure accurate payroll execution and efficient benefits administration.
Innovation and Efficiency: Continuously improve workflows and identify technology, automation, or AI tools that enhance the HR function and maximize firm resources.
What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
HR Certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, CBP).
M&A integration experience.
10+ years of experience in benefits, payroll, HRIS, and compliance, with a focus on rebuilding and managing teams.
In-depth understanding of benefit plans, employment laws, and pay practices.
Experience with ADP or similar HRIS systems.
Exceptional communication, delegation, prioritization, training, and people development skills.
Strong ability to build efficient, repeatable processes and establish clear accountability structures.
Travel and Location: Mosaic has an office in NW Washington DC (Van Ness) and we are expecting a hybrid schedule of in office 3+ days a week
This position will require some travel to new the acquired businesses in the Mosaic ecosystem.
