Position Summary

TDK InvenSense is seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President to head our global Product, Test, and Quality Engineering organizations, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. This role combines oversight of our quality management systems, customer and product quality, new product introduction, and global test development. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the semiconductor industry, particularly in MEMS or sensor-based technologies, with demonstrated success in cross-functional leadership, operational excellence, and delivering best-in-class quality and test solutions to support high-volume, mission-critical products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Global Product, Test, and Quality Engineering goals and strategy in alignment with company objectives.
  • Represent the MEMS Business Group on quality matters across the organization; own and drive worldwide Quality KPIs; promote a culture of continuous improvement using Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, 5S/6S, 8D/CAR.
  • Drive resolution of product, test, quality, and reliability issues for top Consumer OEMs and Tier-1 Automotive customers and external suppliers.

Product & Test Engineering

  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring robust design validation and successful transfer to mass production.
  • Collaborate with Design, Foundry, Validation, Systems, and Manufacturing to define production test strategies for custom and off-the-shelf products.
  • Own product characterization and qualification of new product architectures/platforms.
  • Support root cause assessment and corrective action on customer and product issues.

Quality Management & Compliance

  • Oversee Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO/IATF certifications, audits, and documentation.
  • Drive timely resolution of complex reliability and quality issues for top Consumer OEMs and Tier-1 Automotive customers using industry-standard data analysis and problem-solving tools.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and global regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
  • 15 years of experience in semiconductor operations, quality, product, and/or test engineering, including 5+ years at the director level or above
  • Proven experience leading international cross-disciplinary teams
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving, organizational, and results-driven thinking
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments with shifting priorities
  • Strong understanding of MEMS sensors, modules, test development, and semiconductor manufacturing flow
  • Demonstrated success managing ISO/IATF certified QMS and leading audits with top Consumer and Tier-1 Automotive customers
  • Deep knowledge of quality tools and systems: Six Sigma, SPC, DFMEA/PFMEA, DOE, etc.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (25–30%)

Compensation & Location

  • Base Salary Range (San Jose): $181,000 – $272,000
  • Eligible for long-term incentive plan, variable bonus plan, and full benefits package. Compensation is dependent on experience, skills, and location.
  • Location: San Jose, CA (Hybrid – Minimum 2 days/week onsite)
