Overview:
We are seeking a strategic, highly technical, inspirational, execution-oriented VP of Software Engineering to lead our engineering function across core product areas including our Marketing Platform, Advertising Technology, Email, and Reporting + Analytics f unctionality . The VP of Engineering will serve as a pivotal leader, responsible for architecting and executing an engineering strategy that is deeply aligned with 6sense’s business objectives and our customers’ success. This role requires a visionary who not only partners closely with Product, Design, and Go-to-Market teams, but also demonstrates a keen understanding of our business drivers and market dynamics.
This individual must be a strategic communicator, adept at translating complex technical concepts into actionable plans that resonate across the organization and with external stakeholders. Their focus will be on delivering scalable, reliable, and innovative technology solutions that drive customer value and platform health, while proactively addressing technical debt and future-proofing our systems.
Key to success in this role is a relentless commitment to customer success, platform scalability, and operational excellence. The VP of Engineering will champion the growth and development of engineering talent, ensuring teams are empowered, diverse, and aligned around a shared vision. By delivering a clear engineering roadmap and measurable outcomes, this leader will help position 6sense as a market leader, driving both customer satisfaction and sustainable business growth
Reporting to the SVP of Engineering , the ideal candidate will bring a strong track record of building scalable systems, leading through change, and creating a commitment to customer success, platform scalability, engineering, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities :
Define and execute the engineering vision to align with business strategy and customer needs
Build and scale high-performing engineering organizations and foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
Drive engineering excellence across architecture, performance, reliability, and code quality
Lead through transformation and change, ensuring team agility and operational effectiveness
Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, Data, and GTM leaders to translate business goals into technical outcomes
Translate Product Requirements to define technical specifications that align with roadmap priorities; Make tradeoffs across strategic and tactical work to focus teams on high-impact outcomes
Influence company strategy by bringing a technical lens to business conversations
Manage technical risk and debt - Identify long-term risks and adjust plans and resourcing to mitigate them
Organizational Leadership & Talent Development
Scale and structure a global engineering teams (across U.S., India, and Singapore) to support company growth
Attract, retain, and develop top-tier engineering talent with a strong emphasis on leadership and diversity
Coach senior leaders to elevate team performance and align on long-term org design
Technical Vision & Platform Architecture
Set a compelling technical direction for Marketing Tech, AdTech, and Email platforms
Effectively communicate vision and strategy to cross-functional teams
Make critical architecture decisions that support scalability, reliability, and customer-facing performance
Drive modernization initiatives for systems and platforms, ensuring tech debt is addressed proactively
Operational Excellence & Execution
Build and refine scalable engineering processes for planning, delivery, and incident management
Establish clear goals, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms to track performance and execution
Lead engineering-wide transformation initiatives that enhance speed, quality, and innovation
Define and uphold high standards for code quality, system design, and operational readiness
Foster a culture of craftsmanship, innovation, and data-driven decision-making
Create clarity around goals and ensure measurable outcomes are delivered consistently
Qualifications
15+ years of engineering experience, with 5+ years in senior leadership (VP+) roles
Proven success in scaling engineering organizations in fast-paced environments
Deep expertise in distributed systems, high-throughput platforms, and large-scale data processing
Familiarity with Marketing Tech, AdTech, Email, or related domains preferred
Demonstrated experience leading through change—org design, platform evolution, or systems modernization
Ability to set technical vision and influence business and product teams with strong collaboration skills
Track record of building inclusive teams and strong engineering cultures
Exceptional communication skills and executive presence
Base Salary Range: $270,135.00 - $396,198.00. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to work location and experience. The base salary is one component of 6sense’s total compensation package for this position. Other compensation may include a bonus program or commission plan, and stock options if approved by 6sense’s board. In addition, 6sense provides a variety of benefits, including generous health insurance coverage, life, and disability insurance, a 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, self-care days, and paid time off (PTO). #Li-remote
