As a Remote API and Integration Solution Architect, you will lead the design, strategy, and implementation of API-based architectures and system integrations across the organizations technology landscape. You will work with cross-functional teams to define scalable and secure integration patterns that enable interoperability between cloud, on-premise, and third-party systems.
This role requires deep expertise in API lifecycle management, enterprise integration platforms, and architectural design patterns such as REST, SOAP, micro services, and event-driven frameworks. You will act as a strategic advisor, technical lead, and hands-on contributor for initiatives focused on enhancing agility, data flow, and digital service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Design end-to-end integration architectures and reusable APIs using RESTful, SOAP, GraphQL, and asynchronous protocols
Define and enforce API management policies including throttling, rate limiting, authentication, and authorization
Architect integration strategies leveraging platforms such as MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Apigee, Azure API Management, or AWS API Gateway
Collaborate with product owners, solution architects, and development teams to define integration specifications and system requirements
Lead the development of integration blueprints, interface contracts (OpenAPI/Swagger), and data flow diagrams
Ensure security and compliance of APIs and integrations (e.g., OAuth2.0, SAML, JWT, TLS)
Implement CI/CD pipelines for API lifecycle management and automated deployment
Guide engineering teams on integration patterns such as pub/sub, webhooks, file-based, batch vs. real-time, and hybrid approaches
Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and propose improvements to ensure reliability and scalability
Document architectural decisions, integration patterns, and technical standards for internal and external consumption
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
2 years of experience in systems architecture, backend development, or integration engineering
Strong expertise in API design, API gateways, and enterprise integration platforms
Proficiency with common protocols (HTTPS, WebSocket, JSON, XML, SOAP, gRPC) and data transformation standards (XSLT, JSONata, etc.)
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid/multi-cloud integration
Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes, message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and event streaming
Strong understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
