Responsibilities The Area Sales Director (ASD) for Ophthalmics is responsible for leading and managing a regional ophthalmic sales team, consisting of Managers and Sales Specialists. This role involves driving strategic sales initiatives within a defined geographic area, maximizing market share for Sun Pharma’s ophthalmic product portfolio, and ensuring strong performance against sales targets. The ASD plays a key leadership role in coaching and developing the team of Regional Sales Managers and Sales Representatives, while collaborating cross-functionally with: Marketing Commercial Operations Medical Affairs Market Access The ASD will implement national strategies at the regional level, adapt plans to local market dynamics, and ensure flawless execution of commercial priorities. Key Responsibilities Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing regional sales team. Translate national sales goals into actionable regional strategies. Monitor and manage sales performance, ensuring alignment with company objectives. Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams for coordinated field execution. Evaluate market dynamics, competitive activity, and customer needs to inform strategic adjustments. Foster a culture of accountability, compliance, and customer focus. Ensure promotional activities adhere to company policies and regulations. Travel Requirements This role requires frequent field visits covering roughly one third of the United States, with overnight travel depending on the candidate’s proximity to the assigned geography.
