Overview NIQ is seeking a business-oriented lawyer to join the NIQ Legal Department as Associate General Counsel – Global Clients & Global Retailers. The Associate General Counsel – Global Clients & Global Retailers reports to the General Counsel – Global Clients & Global Retailers of NIQ and its subsidiaries and plays an important role in drafting, negotiating, reviewing, and closing commercial deals for NIQ Group’s largest global clients and retailers. This is a full-time position. The person may operate from a remote location but is expected to live in the United States. The position may be assigned to a specific NIQ Group office, such as in Chicago or New York. The purpose of this role is to provide competent, practical, and ethical legal advice to the commercial leaders of the Global Clients & Global Retailers functions within budgetary parameters, focusing on drafting and negotiating commercial agreements related to market research, data and information licensing, and professional service agreements in line with company strategies. The candidate should be a business-oriented attorney who can recommend solutions and strategies to the business team, manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment, build strong internal and external relationships, and collaborate effectively with others. Responsibilities Participate with other members of the NIQ Legal Department in deploying global corporate legal and regulatory policies, procedures, and programs. Provide rapid, practical, business-oriented legal/commercial advice to the Global Clients & Global Retailers functions, including reviewing and interpreting executed commercial contracts, licensing, alliances, and other sophisticated transactions. Draft, review, and negotiate confidentiality agreements, engagement letters, term sheets and letters of intent, and transactional documents such as inbound/outbound licenses. Collaborate with General Counsel – Global Clients & Global Retailers, NIQ Legal regional colleagues, related business teams, and others to drive deal execution. Actively support global NIQ Group Legal initiatives and partner with NIQ functional leaders in areas such as procurement, compliance, technology, privacy, data protection, and finance. Attend and actively participate in NIQ Legal Department meetings. Handle other matters assigned by the General Counsel – Global Clients & Global Retailers.
Qualifications Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active admission to a state Bar. 5–6 years of business law experience, including in-house legal experience (experience in data licensing or the market research industry strongly preferred). Law firm experience is welcome but not required. Experience structuring and negotiating complex transactions and commercial contracts. Familiarity with market research services, including data licensing, consulting, IT services, and advertising/marketing contracts. Ability to draft, review, negotiate, and close commercial agreements with minimal senior staff support under tight timelines. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively within a globally distributed team. Ability to communicate legal issues clearly to both lawyers and non-lawyers. Sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and a practical approach to issues. Flexibility to manage multiple matters simultaneously. Excellent written and oral communication skills with a clear and concise drafting style. Customer-focused attitude, collaborative spirit, and willingness to seek input from others.

Compensation: This role has a market-competitive base salary range of $145,500–$180,000. Actual salaries vary by experience, qualifications, skills, and location. The role may be eligible for a sales-based incentive or performance-based bonus.
