Employer Industry: Utility Services Why consider this job opportunity: Salary up to $281,710.00 Performance-based incentive bonus available Opportunity for career advancement and growth within the organization Hybrid work arrangements with the possibility of fully remote work in select states Supportive and collaborative work environment focused on innovation and clean energy solutions Commitment to employee well-being and professional development What to Expect (Job Responsibilities): Provide legal counsel on federal regulatory issues, ensuring the company's interests are effectively represented Identify and assess legal, business, and regulatory risks while offering compliance strategies Prepare and review legal contracts and documents, providing analyses and recommendations Advocate for the company's interests to governmental agencies and third parties Select and oversee outside counsel to ensure quality legal representation What is Required (Qualifications): Juris Doctor degree required Eight to 15 years of experience in private practice, in-house, or government related to transmission regulatory and FERC matters Admission to the Oregon State Bar (or ability to be admitted within 6 months of employment) Intermediate knowledge of laws, regulations, and legal practices in multiple areas Strong skills in risk identification, problem-solving, and strategic thinking How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications): Experience working with regulated utilities and understanding their technical needs Proven legal research and writing skills to draft complex legal documents Familiarity with the utility industry, market dynamics, and regulatory environments Ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal specialists effectively Experience in project management and facilitating presentations We prioritize candidate privacy and champion equal-opportunity employment.
