Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Billing and Revenue Manager to lead our customer billing operations and revenue management processes. This role is essential to ensuring accurate financial reporting, efficient collections, and compliance with accounting standards. The successful candidate will manage a team while working closely with accounting, sales, and operations departments. The role will require the candidate to live in the SF Bay Area and to come into the office several times per month.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management & Leadership
- Lead and develop a team of billing specialists
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews
- Foster a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement
- Provide coaching and mentoring to team members
Revenue & Billing Operations
- Oversee customer contract setup and billing system configuration
- Ensure accurate and timely invoice generation and distribution
- Manage service fee billing, including monthly charges and one-time fees
- Review pricing proposals and billing arrangements
Financial Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain compliance with revenue recognition standards (ASC 606)
- Manage contract liabilities and credit loss provisions (ASC 326)
- Prepare monthly financial reports on revenue, margins, and key metrics
- Monitor Days Sales Outstanding and aging analysis
Collections & Cash Management
- Develop and execute collection strategies to minimize outstanding receivables
- Manage prepayment processing and customer deposits
- Resolve billing disputes and payment issues
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams on collection matters
Process & Controls
- Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency gains
- Develop and maintain internal control procedures
- Ensure adherence to company policies and industry best practices
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of revenue accounting experience
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience required
Technical Competencies
- Proficiency with ERP systems
- Advanced Excel skills and financial reporting tools
- Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles

Compensation: $100,000 to $110,000.00 per year plus bonus and full benefit package.
