An established, publicly traded company is searching for a Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to lead its accounting and reporting functions. This is a planned succession hire , with the expectation of moving into the CFO role as the current CFO transitions toward retirement.
What You’ll Do Own all aspects of accounting, reporting, and compliance in a public environment
Lead SEC reporting, SOX compliance, and internal controls
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and annual close processes
Partner with auditors, regulators, and external advisors
Strengthen systems, processes, and internal controls to support growth
Provide board-level reporting and insights to executive leadership
What We’re Looking For CPA required; Big 4 public accounting background strongly preferred
10–15+ years of accounting leadership, including SEC reporting and public company experience
Expertise in GAAP, SOX, and technical accounting
Executive presence and ability to present at board and audit committee levels
Must be local to South Florida and onsite 3–4 days per week
Compensation Competitive base salary, annual cash bonus, and stock incentives. CFO succession opportunity within a short time horizon.
