Overview Uncaged Innovations is a biomaterials startup creating the world’s first scalable leather alternative made from grains, leveraging biotechnology and nature to replicate bovine and exotic leather. Demand for animal alternatives is rapidly growing across industries—from fashion to automotive—in search of more sustainable and ethical solutions. Position : Chief of Staff As Chief of Staff, you’ll serve as the CEO’s strategic right hand — helping drive execution, accelerate commercial growth, and scale the business with focus and discipline. You’ll work across departments to ensure alignment, momentum, and clarity, with a special emphasis on go-to-market initiatives, revenue operations, and strategic partnerships. You’ll be both a high-level strategic partner and a hands-on operator — organizing priorities, removing roadblocks, and leading special projects that move the company forward. This is a unique opportunity to sit at the center of a fast-growing, impact-driven biomaterials company, helping shape our next chapter of growth and global commercialization. Location & Compensation : New York, NY; salary range typically aligns with $195,000–$240,000. Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Execution Partner with the CEO on business strategy, goal setting, and fundraising prep Translate high-level strategy into actionable workstreams across teams Drive progress on key initiatives, ensuring accountability and timely execution Support board and investor communications, including preparation and follow-ups Commercial & Growth Initiatives Help drive cross-functional alignment around sales, marketing, and go-to-market strategy Track and report on commercial KPIs, working with sales and marketing leads Manage critical growth-related projects (e.g. launching new channels or segments) Coordinate customer success efforts and ensure strong early relationships with strategic accounts Internal Leadership & Communication Act as an internal air-traffic controller, keeping teams aligned and focused on what matters most Facilitate leadership team meetings, offsites, and planning cycles Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or friction points — and work to remove them Ensure smooth collaboration across functions like Product, Ops, Finance, and Commercial External Relations & Partnerships Coordinate the CEO’s external engagements and commercial priorities Support strategic partnership development and manage select relationships Lead special projects related to licensing, collaborations, and go-to-market Qualifications — Must Haves 7–12 years of experience in strategy, business operations, consulting, or commercial functions Demonstrated expertise in hard goods manufacturing and supply chain management Proven success in a high-growth or startup environment (Seed–Series B preferred) Strong business acumen, analytical chops, and comfort with KPIs and growth funnels Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple workstreams Excellent communicator with experience working closely with senior leadership Mission-aligned, low-ego, and ready to roll up your sleeves Bonus Points Experience in fashion, sustainability, or biomaterials Familiarity with sales pipelines, CRM tools, and GTM metrics Previous Chief of Staff or chief operating partner-type role Strong PowerPoint/Deck and written communication skills for investor work What We Offer Competitive salary, equity, and benefits Flexible work schedule and partial remote option A front-row seat to scaling a category-defining innovation in sustainable materials Close partnership with a mission-driven CEO High impact, high visibility role with room to grow
