The company has a hybrid model with flexibility to work from anywhere, and in-person attendance is required for two weeks during the year for Truveta Planning Weeks. Meetings are optimized in the Pacific time zone. Job Overview We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) to lead Truveta’s research organization. The CSO will report to the Chief Growth Officer and define and execute the scientific strategy, ensuring Truveta is recognized as a global leader in real-world evidence and data-driven research. Key Responsibilities Shape and lead Truveta’s research strategy to drive scientific excellence and deliver high-impact insights across therapeutics, health equity, clinical practice, and public health. Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing research team with a strong culture of methodological rigor, transparency, and mission-driven innovation. Serve as executive sponsor for priority studies, ensuring timely and credible publication of findings in top-tier journals and presentations at leading conferences. Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and clinical leaders to ensure scientific initiatives are aligned with platform capabilities and strategic priorities. Act as Truveta’s external scientific voice with regulators, researchers, life science leaders, and policymakers—representing the company in advisory roles, speaking engagements, and collaborative initiatives. Provide thought leadership and support as we expand the Truveta Genome Project. Uphold the highest standards in research ethics, compliance, privacy, and reproducibility, ensuring Truveta’s work meets or exceeds regulatory expectations. Key Qualifications Passion for Truveta’s mission and belief in the power of real-world data to save lives. Advanced degree (MD, PhD, or equivalent) in epidemiology, biostatistics, health informatics, public health, or a related biomedical field. 15+ years of experience in scientific research or real-world evidence generation, including leadership roles within academia, industry, or public health. Proven track record of impactful publications in peer-reviewed journals. Deep expertise in study design, statistical methods, and health data analytics. Executive-level communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-moving environment. Experience leading high-performing, mission-driven research teams.
