Overview Commercial Controls Application Engineer- (Turbine/Generator Controls) at GE Vernova. This role provides techno-commercial leadership on assigned deals, working with the Sales team to enable growth of controls product lines across the region. Responsible for leading overall proposal development by coordinating key stakeholders to implement technical and commercial deal strategy. Roles And Responsibilities Review and influence customer specifications, drawings, RFPs, RFQs; develop table of compliance (TOC). Act as the deal focal point of contact and provide application engineering guidance to customers, channel partners, and internal stakeholders. Lead the quoting process for Core and Complex Controls offerings. Utilize quoting tools, models, technical libraries, materials, system configurations/hardware, and design standards to develop tailored control system solutions. Ensure accurate cost estimation including project risk management (technical, execution, commercial risks) within the Inquiry to Order (ITO) process. Coordinate with supply chain and third-party providers to obtain quotations for extended project scope. Work with sales and pricing teams to develop competitive deal-winning pricing and strategy; consolidate deal financials. Present deals for commercial review board (CRB) approvals and ensure ITO process compliance, including review of terms and risk management assessment. Manage tender schedules and ensure timely internal approvals, bid submissions, and readiness for order booking. Lead techno-commercial proposal generation and participate in customer meetings, negotiations, or presentations. Own project handover from ITO to OTR phase to the execution team upon receipt of PO or contract signature. Attend technical and commercial trainings and contribute to continuous improvement of commercial processes, templates, and best practices. Meet or exceed Commercial KPIs such as Quality, Proposal Cycle Time, On Time Delivery, etc. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Engineering (mechanical, electrical, electronic, power preferred) with minimum 4 years’ experience in application/design and/or field service in industrial control systems, or High School Diploma/GED with at least 8 years of experience in the same area. Experience in Unit Control (Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Aero, Hydro, Nuclear), DCS, Generator (Excitation/Static Starters), HMI. Effective use of PC technologies and quoting tools such as Salesforce, CPQ, etc. Eligibility Requirements Up to 30% travel within US or Canada for short customer meetings and opportunity development. Pay and Benefits The base pay range for this position is $92,800.00 - 154,700.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by factors including experience, education, and skill set. This position is eligible for a 15% performance bonus/Sales Incentive Compensation/equity. A geographic differential may apply in certain areas.
