Overview We are currently hiring FT Corporate Counsel, hybrid in Boston, MA We're looking for an experienced business attorney to join our Legal Team, focusing on commercial transactions. The ideal candidate will have 7–10 years of experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of business agreements, preferably including procurement contracts, sponsorships, and marketing services agreements. We’re seeking someone with integrity, a positive attitude, and a sense of humor who can thrive in a collaborative environment. A Hybrid position at Boston Beer requires that our coworkers reside within commuting distance to be onsite according to their teams’ weekly schedule. What You'll Brew Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of a wide range of agreements, with emphasis on distribution, marketing, sponsorships, promotions, social media, sales analytics, consulting, procurement of raw materials and ingredients, capital equipment, trucking, warehousing, IT, and office services. Advise employees and management on contract risk assessment and mitigation; partner with stakeholders to evaluate the business practicality of contracts. Develop and maintain standard contract forms (e.g., PO terms and conditions, confidentiality agreements) and oversee management of the contracts database. Collaborate with procurement, sales, marketing, and other business teams on contract negotiations. Manage wholesaler and distributor transactions. Provide additional transactional support, including legal training, legal research, and special project and litigation support. Research and advise on franchise and related laws affecting product launches, transfers of brand rights, and territory assignments. Draft, review, and negotiate LOIs, leases, lease amendments, and purchase and sale agreements, support due diligence efforts for property leases or acquisitions. What Ingredients You'll Bring Minimum Qualifications: JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school Active membership in good standing with at least one state bar Minimum 7 years of experience with a law firm and/or in-house, negotiating and drafting a variety of business agreements (preferably including procurement contracts, sponsorships, and marketing services agreements) Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to guide transactions and resolve complex issues effectively High attention to detail and strong follow-through Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, complex environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools Preferred Qualifications: Prior in-house legal department experience Knowledge of alcohol or other regulated industries Experience/Knowledge/Genuine interest to learn: Wholesaler and distribution agreements Software agreements Data privacy and security Employment law Public company filings
Level: 5 At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $100,000 and $186,600. However, it’s important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location. Additionally, this position qualifies for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance, and certain sales roles might include a car allowance.
