Your Job Flint Hills Resources (FHR) is seeking a Data Architect to join our Enterprise Data Enablement team. This position can be based at our headquarters in Wichita, KS, or remotely. The role involves enabling a data-centric approach across the organization, standardizing data for reusability. The Data Architect will promote best practices for data storage, modeling, management, and interaction. The ideal candidate will understand business objectives, be proactive, and self-driven. What You Will Do Partner proactively with FHR business, IT leaders, and Solution Architecture teams. Apply economic thinking and assess risks when evaluating projects. Identify valuable items across multiple business segments to maximize value. Engage in high-value projects to understand business needs, provide data modeling, and develop reusable data strategies aligned with FHR's vision. Influence and foster a data enablement mindset throughout the organization; mentor others on data needs. Architect data solutions leveraging existing tools on our internal data platform and contribute to platform enhancements. Assist in query evaluation and optimization. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) 5+ years of experience in IT. 3+ years of experience with query languages, data modeling, data ownership, and data platforms. Strong aptitude for deep data analysis and exploration. What Will Put You Ahead Experience with data virtualization technologies (e.g., Denodo). Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau). Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies. Knowledge of data storage technologies and query languages (e.g., Neo4j, Redshift, S3, Hadoop). Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google). This role is not eligible for VISA sponsorship Salary range is estimated at $90,000 - $150,000 annually, potentially including variable pay such as bonuses.
