Essential Functions Leadership & Strategy
Leads teams in the architecture and engineering of the company’s transition to the public cloud.
Actively contributes toward the vision, strategy, organization and leadership of the cloud engineering function.
Defines and enforces cloud engineering best practices, standards, and architectural guidelines.
Works closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into cloud infrastructure designs.
Provides technical expertise, strategic direction and guidance to ensure the delivery of resilient, scalable, secure and efficient cloud-based solutions.
Provides effective leadership in developing highly engaged, high-performance cloud engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Cloud Infrastructure
Leads complex and high visibility end to end projects through design, budgeting, testing, implementation and performance monitoring.
Collaborates with architects and internal engineering customers to migrate microservices from first party infrastructure to AWS.
Manages service deployments and has a strong knowledge of CI/CD systems and Infrastructure as Code (IAC).
Represents the team for internal and external audits and compliance reviews.
Partners with security, network, and software delivery on continuous improvement of infrastructure platform.
Guides efforts applied to identification, enhancement and automation of applications and systems.
Enhances and matures the Agile software development lifecycle within cloud engineering team by applying industry best practices and processes.
Keeps senior management informed of department progress, problems and solutions.
Able to manage and prioritize requests from multiple stakeholders while ensuring that SLAs are adhered to.
Enforces that standard test policies and procedures are followed.
Participates in and supports initiatives for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning.
Participates in the management of vendor relationships and contract negotiations for the company’s cloud computing platform.
Focuses on both internal and external customers to provide best-in-class service, with an emphasis on efficient resource management and audit controls.
Supports the company’s commitment to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent).
Ten (10) years or more of progressive direct and/or related experience in Engineering, Architecture, etc.; with at least five (5) years of experience with public cloud infrastructure.
Proven track record in leading one or more engineering teams and building public cloud infrastructure; experience with AWS is highly preferred; experience with other cloud providers is a plus.
Five (5) years of hands-on engineering management experience including Agile development practices; experience as a product owner and scrum master is a plus.
Experience with secure and reliable technology delivery including disaster recovery planning and operations, storage area networks and highly available architectures.
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as CI/CD, version control, configuration management, monitoring and alerting.
Knowledge of operating systems, database systems, computer networking, and security; experience with open-source frameworks and tools.
Ability to own and manage technical debt and security vulnerabilities.
Demonstrated experience introducing new technologies and standards into an evolving environment.
Ability to define KPIs and implement the processes required to measure, monitor and meet them.
Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional groups and the ability to deliver results.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities; strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple deadline-driven projects simultaneously.
Background and drug screen required.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
Experience participating in external audits (e.g., OCC, PCI, SOC2, FISMA) is highly desirable due to the regulated nature of the financial services industry.
Physical Requirements Working conditions are a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and involves extensive computer use. May require standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to work with documents and computer equipment. Ability to communicate with internal and external customers. Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Salary information varies by location. The base pay scale for this position is: Phoenix, AZ/ Chicago, IL: $175,000 - $220,000 per year. New York, NY/ San Francisco, CA: $190,000 - $235,000 per year. Eligible for discretionary incentive plan and benefits. This pay scale is subject to change and does not guarantee specific compensation for any candidate. The company considers wage equity and non-discrimination in pay decisions.
