The Director of E&S & Specialty Markets isresponsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with the markets that write Wholesure’s E&S portfolio through Wholesure and specialty retail portfolio through Acrisure’s retail divisions. This role acts as a liaison between our carrier partners and brokers, ensuring smooth communication, timely service, and maximizing business opportunities by understanding broker needs and advocating for Wholesure’s team. This individual will help build and execute carrier strategies across broking, binding, program and personal lines business segments within Wholesure and specialty segments of Acrisure retail.
The Director of E&S & Specialty Markets will report to the Head of Global Markets, working closely with both the Wholesure and retail divisional leadership teams, including Key Customer Placement Leaders in Wholesure.
Key Responsibilities
Actively cultivate and manage relationships with carriers, aligning their business goals and needs with our brokerage operations. Facilitate timely execution of carrier contracts, ensuring brokers can access markets quickly.
Manage contracts for both new carrier relationships and expansions of existing agreements , consolidating from legacy businesses to a Wholesure level where appropriate
Collaborate with brokers in the field to develop market access plans
Establish an internal tracking system to monitor contract status and conversions.
Negotiate optimum compensation contracts, consolidating at Wholesure or Acrisure level, where appropriate
Manage contingent plan ‘lock in’ offers and conduct associated analysis
Track and analyse contingent and supplemental dollars
Maintain a deep understanding of the carrier’s product suite, including coverage options, pricing structures, and underwriting guidelines to support brokers effectively.
Address broker inquiries promptly, provide technical support, and resolve any issues related to policy servicing, claims, or billing.Institute a process for the management, escalation and tracking of broker of record issues in the field
Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities for our brokers and carrier partners.
Prepare leaders for all carrier engagement, including leading the coordination of industry conferences
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate broker relationships, identify areas for improvement, and track business growth.
Manage regular reporting to executive leadership including placement KPIs, BOR issues, compensation metrics
Develop and execute carrier strategies across broking, binding, programs and personal lines
Required Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with brokers, internal teams, and senior management.
Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with brokers and carriers.
Comprehensive knowledge of insurance products, coverage options and underwriting guidelines.
Knowledge of the insurance industry, regulatory landscape, and distribution channels.
Awareness of London, Bermuda insurance and global reinsurance markets
Ability to negotiate terms and conditions with carriers to reach mutually beneficial agreements.
Proficiency in data analysis to identify trends, track performance, and discover new opportunities within the market.

Pay Details:
The base compensation range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
