About The Role
The Director assists in managing complex client relationships by liaising with various business groups across Service, Investment Research, and Advisory teams to deliver a multidisciplinary solution. The ideal candidate will have extensive wealth management experience, thrive in a fast-paced environment, deliver outstanding service, and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
The Family Office Management Team (FOMT) is a client-facing support function that facilitates day-to-day needs for family office clients, including asset transfers, tax, estate and portfolio administration, account maintenance, private fund subscriptions, and lifestyle management. This role also supports client meetings, deliverable production, and works within internal service queues related to service tasks, money movement, subscription preparation, and tax payments.
Primary Responsibilities
Understand fundamentals of financial, tax, retirement, and estate planning
Consult on strategic asset allocation, portfolio structure design, and performance monitoring
Provide comprehensive guidance to clients on investment and portfolio needs
Collaborate with internal team members to troubleshoot portfolio implementation, trading, servicing, and reporting
Prepare for and follow up on client meetings, presentations, and conference calls
Develop strategies to enhance client service delivery
Oversee servicing activities for a delegated group of clients including infrastructure documentation, investment policy guidelines, marketing materials, portfolio trading, tax analysis, and portfolio structuring
Recommend and coordinate portfolio rebalancing strategies, working with advisory and research teams
Draft client-ready follow-up memoranda and supporting documents under strict deadlines
Be knowledgeable on performance reporting and technology platforms and communicate with clients as needed
Manage annual and ad hoc client tax reporting efforts and cost basis oversight
Support new client onboarding, including asset management/trust coordination, reporting setup, and investment policy documentation
Monitor client portfolios on an ongoing basis, managing cash flows, liquidity, and allocations
Prepare timely, client-ready communications on portfolio and financial planning updates
Contribute to firm management meetings through internal memoranda and active participation
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in wealth management, estate planning, and/or tax planning
Bachelor's degree required; Series 65 (or equivalent) certification required
Advanced degrees and/or certifications (CFP, MBA, CFA, CPA, JD, LLM, etc.) strongly preferred
Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills
Ability to multi-task, manage projects under strict deadlines, and work independently
Detail-oriented with a willingness to roll up sleeves and execute personally
Flexible, with ability to occasionally work nights/weekends under deadlines
Strong teamwork and ability to take direction from firm leadership
Technology savvy with the ability to adapt to industry software programs
Passion for family office client service and excellence at all levels
